Customer Rating: Summary: What a great gift for newly weds! Comment: This is so simple that even a husband can figure it out and get it done in 30 minutes!
Ha. That was a dig for guys but being a cooking husband myself with a fantastic cook for a wife, we know this will be fun for both the husband and the wife.
Great for weddings, Christmas or even a birthday. Enjoy!
Customer Rating: Summary: Semi Homemade 20 Minute meals Comment: Book arrived quickly and in shape described. I am very satisfied with the seller. Thanks.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not really "20-minute" meals Comment: I was looking for a little more "down-to-earth", 20-minute meal recipes, and most of the recipes in this book took me close to an hour to prepare. I'd say the book is okay, but it's "weak sauce".
Customer Rating: Summary: WOW! Comment: This is a fantastic cookbook, and one that won't leave my shelf. So far I have made more than ten of the dishes, and each time I am unbelievably impressed. My favorite so far is the Macadamia-crusted halibut - I have been trying to cook more seafood and it usually turns out to be a disaster. This dish was amazing - I served it with the pineapple salsa and Hawaiian medley with bananas, sweet potatoes, etc. It was restaurant-quality, and I couldn't believe it came out of my kitchen.
Sandra Lee makes cooking quality food easy and accessible for those of us who have jobs, kids, and no time to cook.
In addition - some of the complaints on the nutrition in these recipes can be easily solved by substituting on your own. All of my staples are low-fat dairy products, Egg Beaters, etc. - I have used these in all her recipes with no problem. You can also put your own fresh ingredients in for the canned items, as another reader suggested.
Another great addition to your Semi-Homemade library!
Customer Rating: Summary: Not Bad Comment: Some of the recipes in here are pretty good, but all in all wasn't very impressed. I wish I could have seen a list of recipes in the book before I bought it. There are just several things my family would not eat!
