Customer Rating: Summary: The perfect wine journal Comment: This is the perfect wine journal. It is small and easy to carry, especially when you are visiting wineries. The book contains useful information as well as sections to record wine purchases, visits to wineries and wines tasted. The book is small, so some wine labels do not fit. I just cut the sides a bit to make it fit. The book contains the following sections in a chapter titled "An Introduction to Wine":
Visiting Wine Country
The North American Vintner's Year
How to Taste Wines
Evaluating Wines
Buying Wines
Storing and Serving Wine
Hosting a Wine-Tasting Party
As I mentioned above, the book also contains sections where you fill in the information for Wineries Visited, Cellar Records, Tasting Notes and an extra section for Notes. The Tasting Notes section is my favorite because it gives you space to write your comments about the aromas, taste, body and color of the wine. It also gives you space to write whether the wine was opened for a special occasion and which, who were your guests and with which food the wine was paired with.
Excellent small but functional book.
P.S. The best way to remove labels from a wine bottle is to put it in the oven for 15 minutes (another 15 if needed) (label facing up) and then to peel it out. This melts the glue. The label still has enough glue left to put it in the wine journal without needing any other adhesive devices. Careful! The wine bottle will be hot so use protective gear and do it at your own risk.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good journal . . . a little big Comment: Although I do like this journal, it is a little big and the pages look a little outdated. Very nice cover and would look nice as a accent to your home (coffee table book, on top of the wine cabinet, etc . . . )
Customer Rating: Summary: perfect wine journal Comment: I got this for my mom beacuse she was always forgetting which wines she liked. This journal was just what she needed. It has wine info in the front pages- the shapes of bottles, the different countries and other stuff. And then it has MANY pages for pasting lables and writing your notes on the wine.
Customer Rating: Summary: great purchase for a budding wine connoisseur Comment: I'm having a lot fun filling the pages of my Wine Lover's Journal. It is a great place to enter my comments on the different wines I've been enjoying and to help me remember what I'd like to buy again!
Customer Rating: Summary: good book Comment: I would say that, sure this is a good book to buy. We haven't used it yet, because it didn't come with a wine label remover, which is the only thing I would suggest changing. Make it a package deal with whatever the product is to remove labels. Have fun drinking your wine and filling up the book!
